| |  | SHARP - Sedgeford Historical & Archaeological Research Project
Distance from our doorstep: a short walk!
Founded in 1996, the Project is a long-term, multi-period, multi-disciplinary research project set up to investigate the entire range of human settlement and land-use from the earliest times to the present day. Currently one of the largest archaeological projects in Britain. The site is believed to have offered a camp to Bodicea and some remarkable finds have been made such as the famous Sedgeford Hoard & the Sedgeford Torc.
The site is open to visitors in July & August from 10.00-4.00pm every day, except Saturday. Guided Site Tours every Friday 3pm. Lectures every Tuesday during season. |

Standing in the heart of Norfolk's undulating countryside, Bircham Windmill now looks as it did over 100 years ago. Today, very few windmills are left, and Bircham Mill is considered one of the best still remaining: it is the only windmill in working order in this area open to the public.
Visitors can climb the five floors up to the fan stage and, when possible, on windy days, visitors can also see the sails and the milling machinery turning. Lovely Tea Room on site and you can also hire bicycles for 1 or 2 hour trails. Open April - September.
